Why study in Australia?

Australia has a good name around the world when it comes to schooling. They have one of the biggest percentages of people with college degrees in the world. The country also has a high number of people who can read and write and who go to school. Australia has an education system that is among the best in the world. It offers high-quality education for fair school fees.

What does the Australian school year look like?

  • Australia’s academic year is built on semesters, just like many other Western universities.
  • Most bachelor’s degrees take three years, but an honors degree can take four years. For a Masters, it takes one or two years, and for a PhD, it takes three.
  • Most colleges have two quarters per year, but some have three trimesters.
  • March is the start of the school year.
  • Many colleges and courses start twice a year, but not all of them do, so make sure you want to start in September.
  • Documents you need to apply to college.

 

Most of the time, Australian universities will ask for the same things that universities everywhere do. These things will be:

  • copy of your passport
  • copies of important credentials
  • proof that you speak the right language for the course
  • proof that you are getting a scholarship
  • a letter of approval or a reference from a school or teacher
  • proof of any extra needs that are listed for the course

How to fill out an application?

  • Personal information.
  • This could be easy information, but some programs may be interested in your family history, like if they are looking for first-generation college students.
  • Your academic background, which includes things like certificates and transcripts.
  • Recommendation letters could come from teachers, tutors, or jobs.
  • Information about your finances can show that you need help with money.
  • This could be a portfolio of your past work or an essay you had to write to get the grant and show what you can do.

Cost of Studying in Australia

How much it costs to study in Australia will vary depending on where you go to school and what level you choose. The list below gives you an idea of how much different kinds of skills cost.

  • $7,800 to $30,000 for school
  • English studies cost around $300 per week, based on how long the course is.
  • Vocational Education and Training (Certificates I–IV, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma): $4,000–$22,000
  • Bachelor’s Degree, First Year: $15,000 to $33,000*
  • *$20,000 to $37,000 for a master’s degree after college.
  • $14,000 to $37,000* for a doctorate

Scholarships

There are many scholarships for students of all nationalities, but the rules for each scholarship are set by the school or organization that gives them. You have to apply directly to the scholarship provider, and you have to call the scholarship provider to find out if you are eligible for a scholarship.

Language Requirements:

As Australia is an English-speaking country, all its classes are taught in English. So, you will have to show that you are fluent. Either by being a native English speaker or by-passing tests to show that you know how to speak English,

Each university and even each school may have its own set of rules. But most of the big English language tests are accepted and known.

  • The IELTS. This test gives you a score between 0 and 9 based on how well you listen, talk, read, and write in English. Most of the time, you’ll need a total score of at least 6.5, with not a single skill below 6.
  • The TOEFL-IBT. Like the IELTS, the TEEFL-IBT gives separate scores for listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a maximum of 30 in each area. Most of the time, you’ll need at least 85 points overall, with at least 17–19 points in each area.
  • Academic PTE. Each of the four parts of this test—speech, writing, listening, and speaking—has a maximum score of 90. Universities usually want a score between 55 and 60, with at least 55 in each of the four skills.
